Regenerate
Build. Thrive. Restore.
The project explores the concept of subconscious game-based learning, game experience design and regenerative design thinking. A multi-generational educational board and card game design that incorporates the narrative on issues concerning SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals by UN)
to educate the people about regenerative and degenerative practices through gamification (creating a playful learning experience).

The game concept takes a step ahead and shifts the perspective beyond the idea of sustainability to regeneration, where players try to replenish and restore the harm that has already been done to the environment, and it initiates a conversation about the consequences that our daily degenerative habits can have.
My creative process began with the identification of knowledge gaps about regenerative cultures, such as a poor understanding of the regenerative concept and a lack of resources for the society to learn about degenerative practices, even though most people are aware of unsustainable practices but not everyone is aware of how severe its consequences are.
The motivation behind the project was to figure out a creative way to make all this information
accessible to the public, which is how I came across the concept of game-based learning, a multi-sensory learning that significantly improves a learner's capacity to understand and retain concepts. People can pick up innovative ideas more quickly, remember them, and use them appropriately in everyday life.
For design, I studied numerous board and card games to understand the basics of a board game. My emphasis on understanding game culture and its core mechanics was maintained throughout the entire process of designing the game. The visual language and color scheme were developed to create a game that would catch players' attention and provide them with a recreational experience as they subconsciously learn about regeneration.
Creative Process
In game design the definition emphasizes on the creation of meaningful experience: Design is the process by which a designer creates a context to be encountered by a participant, from which meaning emerges.
