Handcrafted Glow: A Wabi-Sabi Inspired Lamp with Emotionally Durable Design
The lamp is inspired by Wabi-Sabi and Emotionally Durable Design. It’s a beautiful and long-lasting object that celebrates imperfection and the natural cycles of growth and decay. It is designed to last both physically and emotionally, with a timeless aesthetic that would continue to bring meaning to its life (as it is made from handmade recycled paper).
The lamp being made from recycled handmade paper
which is both sustainable & durable, embraces the natural imperfections and variations in the paper, celebrating its uniqueness and individuality rather than trying to hide them.
The lamp's shape and form (inspired by sakura flower) is simple and unadorned, with cleanliness and a minimalist aesthetic that emphasizes the beauty of its materials and construction. Its light source is energy-efficient and long-lasting LED bulb. Another unique feature of the lamp is that its made of plantable recycled paper, so when the lamp gets damaged the paper can be planted rather than going into trash.
Overall, this lamp inspired by wabi-sabi and emotionally durable design is a beautiful and meaningful object that embodies the principles of sustainability, durability, and beauty in imperfection.

Promotional Postcards
Postcards are among the most practical forms of visual or verbal communication. They are economical because they have low to no production costs and are a simple and practical way to reach a wide audience. Additionally, if they are well designed, people like to keep them as mementos, which contributes to the audience’s long-term impression of your product or service.
The following postcards are printed on recycled paper and provide a concise summary of the entire product design concept, including the inspiration for the idea, the final result, and images of the product (all on one piece of 4 by 6 inch recycled paper). I believe this medium of publication is perfect to showcase my work to the viewers and also it acts as a reflection of my concept chosen for the project i.e. Emotionally Durable Design.
